GINPIN
GINPIN, a creative offshoot of Huffmans Limited, represents a novel approach to celebrating Scottish gin through collectible badges. Born from the desire to commemorate various gins distributed by Huffmans, the project started with a simple sketch of the Crag & Tail Gin bottle, evolving through numerous refinements into a distinctive badge that captures the essence of the original design. The first in what would become a series, the Crag & Tail badge set the standard for GINPIN’s product line - meticulously crafted to retain key details of the actual bottles while offering a sleek, stylised representation suitable for gin enthusiasts to collect and wear. This initiative not only pays homage to the spirits but also connects fans and connoisseurs with their favourite brands in a unique, tangible way.
My role with GINPIN involved extensive content creation and social media management, coupled with the design of custom badges for a range of Scottish spirit brands, including Orkney Gin Company, Inverclyde Gin, Rum Bothy, and King’s Hill Gin. I developed engaging visuals, dynamic presentations, and promotions that spanned across all GINPIN platforms, incorporating short animations and digital illustrations specifically tailored for social media audiences. Additionally, I designed a special, limited series of branded badges, which were then sold as exclusive merchandise on the spirits brands’ websites through a collaboration with GINPIN. I also coordinated closely with external manufacturers, ensuring that each badge design was perfectly adapted to meet production specifications, thus maintaining the high-quality and detailed craftsmanship that GINPIN badges are known for. This blend of digital creativity and practical design liaison has significantly contributed to GINPIN’s growing popularity and the enhanced visibility of Scottish spirits within and beyond the region.
